The Cairo International Festival for Experimental Theatre (CIFET), in its 32nd edition under the presidency of Dr. Sameh Mahran, announces the opening of applications for Egyptian performances starting today, April 8, until the deadline of June 1, 2025
.The festival administration has outlined the following guidelines and conditions for participation:
Performance duration must be no less than 30 minutes and no more than 90 minutes to maintain the event schedule.
Performances will be selected by the festival’s viewing committee.
Applications without a full video recording of the performance will be considered void.
Applications must be submitted by the production entity.
Communication with selected troupes will be conducted via the official email listed in the participation form.
Selected performances will be presented over two consecutive nights as part of the festival’s official program.
All performances will be open to the public free of charge.
The festival does not provide financial compensation to participating troupes.
Applicants must commit to presenting the same version of the performance submitted to the festival, without any alterations.
Accepted performances are also required to submit all requested information within the specified timeframe.
CIFET is a competitive annual event organized by the Ministry of Culture of the Arab Republic of Egypt. It serves as a platform for intercultural dialogue through various forms of theatre and performing arts and aims to showcase the latest developments in the international theatre scene to Egyptian, Arab, and global audiences.
